The second season of the Nissan Micra Cup is gearing up for a new year of on track competition and is expanding into Ontario for the 2016 season. County Road Auto Group and Guelph Nissan/Waterloo Nissan are proud to announce its partnership with racing driver and automotive media personality Brian Makse in the #13 Nissan Micra Cup racecar.

Canada’s most affordable racing series, the Nissan Micra Cup features Canada’s most affordable new vehicle, the Nissan Micra, in exciting, wheel-to-wheel action. All Nissan Micra Cup racing cars are identically prepared to the same specifications which results in a truly competitive racing series.

Launched exclusively in the province of Quebec in 2015, the Nissan Micra Cup expands to Ontario in 2016 with one race weekend at Calabogie Motorsports Park in May, and two race weekends at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in July and September. Each race weekend features two exhilarating, 30-minute sprint races.

As part of the partnership in their 2016 Nissan Micra Cup campaign, a County Road Auto Group, Guelph Nissan, and Waterloo Nissan branding will adorn the #13 Nissan Micra Cup racer. A 2016 Nissan Titan XD from County Road Auto Group will be decorated and used as the official tow vehicle for the #13 Micra racecar between races.

Created in 2015 as an affordable, entry-level racing division, the Nissan Micra Cup found immediate success in Quebec and will expand into Ontario this year. Races are a half-hour in duration with the season consisting of eight doubleheader race weekends. For its sophomore year, the Nissan Micra Cup will appear on the schedules of several of the country’s premiere racing events, including the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, and the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix and the NASCAR Chevrolet Silverado 250 weekends at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.
