2016 Maxima and 2016 Titan XD Claim Top Spot with MotorWeekFeb 18th, 2016
Earlier at the Chicago Auto Show, the All-New 2016 NissanTITAN XD was named MotorWeek’s Driver’s Choice award winner for “Best Pickup Truck”. Adding to the already impressive list of awards and accolades the Titan XD has won. (See the other awards here)
Along with the Titan, the All-New 2016 Nissan Maxima was awarded “Best Sports Sedan” by Motorweek Driver’s Choice awards. In Fact, the Maxima will be featured in a special episode of MotorWeek which will air on Velocity beginning February 23.
The Drivers’ Choice Awards recognize the best models in a variety of lifestyle categories ranging from family sedan to luxury car, large utilities and pickups. Awarded annually since 1983, MotorWeek bases its Drivers’ Choice Awards on superior performance, technology, practicality, dollar value and driving experience. Unlike other industry benchmarks, MotorWeek’s award categories reflect consumer buying trends and the full range of buyer preferences.
The eighth generation Nissan Maxima sets the standard for style, performance and technology in the large sedan segment. As the Maxima is Nissan’s flagship sedan, it paints a picture of the Nissan brand showcasing the company’s cutting edge design, performance and innovation leadership.
With technology features like NissanConnect with navigation, an available premium BOSE 11 speaker audio system, around-view monitor, and moving object detection. The 2016 Nissan Maxima really sets it’s self apart from its competition. And this is something the people at MotorWeek have taken notice of.
The 2016 Nissan Titan XD was selected for all of its innovation and for hitting a segment in the market that other brands have seemed to ignore. MotorWeek senior executive producer and longtime host John Davis reported: “The Nissan Titan XD is indeed a ‘heavier’ duty version of the second generation Titan full-size ‘light duty’ pickup truck. It’s all-new all around, with vastly increased capabilities. Despite the domestic dominance of the full-size truck market, this TITAN shows Nissan is not quitting, and in fact has found a way to brilliantly cover a niche that their bigger rivals have ignored.”
