The Nissan Titan XD was Named AutoGuide.com 2016 Truck of the YearJan 22nd, 2016
The editors at AutoGuide.com have selected the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD as the “Truck of the Year”, to add to the Titan’s already impressive collection of honors and awards. The 2016 Titan XD (now in stock here at Guelph Nissan), beat out the Toyota Tacoma and GMC Canon diesel for the top prize.
The Titan XD was recognize by the editors for its “brawny 555 puund-feet of torque” and for hitting a “trucking sweet spot” with its heavy duty capabilities packaged the comfort of a half-ton truck.
Some of the other awards and recognition the TITAN XD has received are from the editors of Cars.com and PickupTrucks.com as the “Best Pickup Truck of 2016.” It was also named “Truck of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) in their annual Texas Truck Rodeo. In addition to the competition’s top award, the TITAN XD won three other honours – Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas, Off-Road Pickup Truck of Texas and Best Powertrain for its standard Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine.
The 2016 Nissan TITAN XD is anchored by a powerful 310-horsepower Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel and mated to a heavy-duty 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission, and has a maximum towing capacity rating of more than 12,000 pounds when properly equipped.
